O’BRIEN, Martha (Marty), died 7/2/17 at home, surrounded by friends, family and her loving caregivers. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on 11/20/46 to William and Faith Reed. Formerly of Connecticut, a resident of Palmetto Bay since 1978.
Marty attended the University of Rhode Island, she was previously a Librarian and career Financial Planner.
She is survived by husband, Jeremiah O’Brien (Married: 6/19/1976). Mother of Jennifer McGaw (Fred Peterson). Also survived by stepchildren: Kathleen Jones (Nathaniel), Susan Hopkins (Andrew), Michael O’Brien (Sharon), Timothy O’Brien and William O’Brien and grandchildren: Helen Walker (Charles), Brendan O’Brien, Lauren Jones, Shea O’Brien, Meagan Tworek (Justin), Patrick Peterson and Sophia Peterson, Great grandson, Luke Tworek.
Marty was outgoing, with a contagious laugh. She loved being with her friends, grandchildren, her book club, card playing friends and church prayer group.
Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She was considered the best neighbor in the world and was loved by family and friends.

Visitation will take place at 9am on Saturday, 7/8/17 with a Mass at 10am at Holy Rosary-St. Richard Catholic Church, Palmetto Bay. Interment will take place in Connecticut.
