Lyle Arnold Johnson, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Lyle was a man of honor and integrity who loved his family, God and country.

He leaves his beloved wife of 64 years, Barbara (Reitsma) Johnson; his daughters Deborah (Jeff) Elsberry and Susan (Chris) Wolary; his grandsons Gregory (Christy) Elsberry and Douglas Elsberry; his granddaughters Ashley(Foley) Wolary and Brittany (Roman) Digilio; his great-grandson Michael Elsberry; and sister-in-law Joan Reitsma, and his cherished Yorkie, Missy.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, the son of the late Edna Belle Hood and Roy Armond Johnson. Lyle graduated from Miami Senior High where he met his wife Barbara. They eloped in November, 1952 to Thomasville, Georgia. 

After serving in the Army, he returned to Miami, where he worked for the United States Postal Service. Lyle was a very active member of the Mahi Shrine and the Masons, and was a "Roadrunner" for many years. 

Visitation will be held Friday, April 28th from 6-8pm and Funeral services April 29th at 11am at Stanfill Funeral Home 10545 S. Dixie Hwy, Pinecrest, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift to: Mahi Shriners' Transportation Fund, P.O. Box 668977, Miami, 33166.
