Harold Lewis Greene

June 4, 1926 ~ December 6, 2016 (age 90) 90 Years Old
Hal Greene was born on June 4, 1926 in Savannah, GA and passed away peacefully at home in Miami, FL on December 6, 2016.  He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy (Deal) Greene; his two daughters, Cathy Van Dyken and Michele Ver Beek; his son-in-laws, Jack Van Dyken and Dan Ver Beek; his beloved grandchildren: Emily, Jay, Caleb, Adam, Nathan, Lindsey, and his thirteen great grandchildren: Bryce, Lauren, Jaylin, Hunter, Shayna, Everett, Easton, the twins, Aiden and Audrey, Elijah, Jacob, Eli, and baby Malachi! Hal was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amy (Ver Beek) Brown.
  
He served briefly in the Army Air Force during World War II, and played clarinet and saxophone in the 655th Army Air Force Band in Hobbs, New Mexico.  After graduating from Armstrong College in Savannah, GA, he continued his education at the law school of the University of Miami.  Graduating in 1952, Hal began his law practice on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. He later joined the law firm, Taylor, Brian, Buker and Greene.  

A member of the South Miami Kiwanis Club for more than 25 years, Hal served in many of their community projects, and as President.  He served on the school board at Westminster Christian School, where Dottie was an Art teacher, and the alma mater of his daughters.  Hal was an avid golfer, and rarely missed a weekly round with his golfing buddies.  He was a long time member of Kendall Presbyterian Church, serving the church as Deacon and Elder for several terms and as council to the church on legal matters.  

Hal loved his family deeply and admired the artistic talents of his wife, Dottie.  He was known to share the successes of Dottie, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to anyone who would listen.  A funeral service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Kendall Presbyterian Church, 8485 SW 112th Street, Miami, FL   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kendall Presbyterian Church.
