This was your favorite time of day. Just before the sun set. We were the best of friends. We always said you only need just one good friend. We knew everything about each other. I knew you loved your family. I knew everything about Mathew and how proud you were of him. I knew you worried about Howard traveling so much. I knew you worried about Yvette and how much time she spent working and how she should take better care of herself. I knew you were always worried about Steve and how safe he was on the streets of Miami. You always wanted the animals to have a safe place to live. You loved country western music, you loved to watch the red cardinals. You got so angry at the political stag. We laughed and laughed about all kinds of things. You were there for me when I needed someone I could cry with. You were always there. You had a strong faith in God. You always told me what you were thinking. That was how you were. But.... you didn't tell me you were leaving. I will miss you and keep you always in my heart. My friend, no more hurt, no more cold.... I will keep you close.
