Winnie L Connell
July 8, 1947 ~ April 1, 2024 (age 76) 76 Years Old
Winnie Landreth Connell, born on July 8, 1947, peacefully passed away with her beloved family at her side on April 1, 2024, at the age of 76.
Winnie was born in Springfield, Illinois, to her parents Duane and Mardelle Landreth. She grew up in a loving home with her father, a WW2 pilot, her three sisters, and two brothers.
She was the devoted wife of Hal Connell for over 52 years; they met and were married in Clearwater, Florida. She was a loving mother of two children, Amy and Greg, and a cherished grandmother of two granddaughters, Sienna and Ella. She adored her granddaughters and loved spending time with them, taking them to the dollar store or to her antique shop to pick out their favorite toys or jewelry. These memories will live within the girls throughout their lives.
Winnie had a great passion for antiquing and crafts; she and her friends had a small antique shop in South Miami that they nurtured for over 30 years. Winnie filled everyone’s lives with kindness, sweetness, and love. Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature touched the hearts of everyone she encountered, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was known to some as their second mom; she always wanted people to feel loved, accepted, and part of the family.
Winnie will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Though she may no longer be with us in person, she will be remembered as the sweetest, kindest, and most amazing human being. Her love she portrayed onto others will be cherished forever. We hope that when you think of Winnie, you hear her infectious laugh, see her beautiful smile, and may your thoughts of her always be accompanied by smiles and warmth, a testament to the beautiful spirit she shared with everyone around her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) in Winnie’s honor.
In our hearts, Nana, your love will continue to shine. We miss you every day.
