Preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Robert Ricklick and her husband of 10 years, Alan Summerton, her daughter Marie Therese Hunter (George) and two grandsons. Born at barely 4 pounds on a farm in South Dakota in the late 20's Theresa learned early that to survive she had to be tough. Losing her father at a very young age, her mother raised she and her siblings during the dust bowl days. Following College, she taught in a one room school house in South Dakota until she and Bob were married and she moved to Minneapolis and started her family. In the late 50's they relocated to Miami where the last 4 children were born and raised. Theresa was very involved in her church and her community. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic church for nearly 60 years. She also served for many years on the board of the Council of Catholic Women where she was an active member for over 50 years.
Theresa was also actively involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was also a "second mom" to most of our friends and neighbors. She was "Mom Ricklick" to hundreds of others. She was farm girl at heart. Sewing, Rosary making and card playing were some of her passions. She was always ready to drop everything if someone was willing to play cards with her. She also had a great passion for collecting elephants and her collection was extensive. She was generous and compassionate and loving to all. She will be dearly missed.
