Susan Armond Johnson Wolary, 62, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 39 years, Christopher Wolary; her daughters Ashley (Miranda) Wolary and Brittany (Roman) Digilio; her grandson Mason Wolary-Foley; her mother Barbara Johnson; sister Deborah (Jeff) Elsberry; her nephews Gregory (Christy) Elsberry and Douglas Elsberry; great-nephew Michael Elsberry; her Great-Aunt Joan Reitsma and her dogs Bella, Bailey, and Coco.
Susan was born to Lyle and Barbara Johnson in 1958 in Miami, Florida. Her passion for helping people was ignited when she worked at Variety Childrens Hospital as a Candy Striper before she graduated from Coral Gables Senior High and then attending the University of South Florida and the Florida State University, where she was in Nursing School. While at FSU she met her husband Chris, and both graduated with their BSNs in 1980 and they were married in 1982. After Nursing school, she moved back to Miami to work as an RN at Miami Childrens Hospital where she was for 35+ years.
Susan took time off from nursing to be a stay-at-home mom to Ashley and Brittany. She immersed herself in being "room mom", a part of PTA, and being a dance and soccer mom. She was deeply devoted to her daughters and others who she considered her "daughters."
In 2018, she became known as "Gaga" to her grandson, Mason. He was the light of her life.
For the past several years she has worked in home health care for multiple agencies continuing her life mission to help and to touch as many people as possible.
Susan will leave a void in not only the life of her family, but to the many friends she had.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 29th from 6-8pm at Stanfill Funeral Home 10545 S. Dixie Hwy, Pinecrest, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift to the charity of your choice.
