Stephanie Lee Reid Caravetta

June 22, 1953 ~ January 8, 2022 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Tribute

Our dearest Stephanie flew away to join our Lord and Savior on January 8, 2022, of natural causes. Her passing leaves behind family and friends who will miss her deeply.

Stephanie was born to Jack and Nancy Reid in Hialeah, Florida. While she travelled extensively, both personally and professionally, she was a life-long Florida resident, living primarily in the greater Miami area.

While Stephanie started her professional career as a dental hygienist, she soon discovered the joys of flying earning her pilot’s license followed by employment with Chalk’s International Airlines and later as a Captain with American Airlines, also achieving special flight and instructor certifications. After retirement from American Airlines, Stephanie found herself drawn to service and care of others, leading her to form Stephanie CARES LLC which she operated until her death.

Additionally, Stephanie was active in many associations and clubs, as well as, growing orchids and spoiling her beloved Yorkie, Harley. She also volunteered feeding the hungry at food kitchens and aiding members of the congregation at her church, the Old Cutler Road Presbyterian. Further, she lovingly cared for her former husband, Frederick Caravetta until the end of his life. At the time of her passing, Stephanie had served as the President of the Cutler Ridge Women’s Club and was their current Treasurer.

Stephanie is survived by her mother, Nancy Schleiger of Greeley, Colorado, her aunt, Martha Schmuhl of Johnstown, Colorado, her niece Stephanie Ann Lynch, her grand nieces, Georgia Ann Lynch and Emma Lynn Lynch of Loveland, Colorado, her cousin Debby Sweigard of Cheyenne, Wyoming and her cousin Sharon Jessup of Miami, Florida. She was predeceased by her brother Jack Reid, Jr.
