Be the first to offer your condolences on Sandra's Tribute Wall
Sandra Michelle Londoño, 42, passed away on June 5th, 2018. Best said by her sister in all but name, Ashley, "all who loved her are grateful that Sandra is new again & at peace and more than sad that she is no longer with us". Sandra was loved by so many. She was the daughter of Robert & Christie Londoño; the mother of Olivia, "her Stars & Sun", sister & sister-in-law of Michael & Linda Londoño and a friend, a teammate, a colleague, an always ready listener and a giver of encouragement & comfort. Sandra will always be treasured and remain in our hearts given the kindness, compassion & empathy that she shared with all regardless of place or circumstance.
Sandra was born on September 17, 1975 at the American Hospital in the Districto Federal of Mexico City. At four, she moved to Cromwell NJ where the community became her extended family thanks to her avid love of swimming for the town team, of excessively decorating herself & her bikes for any & all holiday celebrations and, most importantly, spending as much time with her friends as she did her family. With the promise of sunny weather & beach-time, Sandra moved to South Florida with her family and started at Ransom Everglades School in her junior year of high school. Shortly thereafter, Sandra left for Salem Virginia to Roanoke College where she earned her BA in psychology & sociology with distinction in 1997 while managing to further extend her family by becoming a Delta Gamma, playing field hockey and, again, forming life-long friendships. To make a career of helping others, Sandra earned her MA in Social Work from Florida International University in 2002 and her license in Clinical Social work in 2005 along with being awarded a fellowship & research grants involving assisting vulnerable segments of the population.
Sandra's "Stars & Sun" came into her life on July 18, 2005. Olivia will always be the sun around which Sandra's universe circles and the daughter that she will protect, guide & care for throughout Olivia's life. Olivia's and Sandra's endless bond of love was formed through moments both great, small & difficult. Sandra was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2012. Sandra's love & bond with Olivia became all the stronger as a result. She also joined the Mount Sinai family in Miami Beach that year as a devoted friend & colleague. She continued to give encouragement & comfort when needed & to listen when asked to both her immediate & extended families until her passing.
When you need someone with whom to talk, Sandra will be listening and when you need encouragement & comfort, Sandra will be there.
Sandra is survived by her Mother Rosemary (Christie) Londoño, Father Robert Michael Londoño, Daughter Olivia London Gang, Brother Michael Andrew Londoño, Sister-in-Law Linda Anne Londoño, Niece Cassandra Hope Londoño & Niece Caylee Rose Londoño.
