Sandra L. Edie

Sandra L. Edie, age 67, passed away on February 4, 2019 at home with family after a two and a half year fight with cancer.
Born in Daytona Beach, Florida, she moved to Miami as an infant where she lived her entire life. She was survived by brothers, Jim and Jack, nieces, Hannah and Emma and fiance, John Groo.
Graduating from miami Coral Park Senior High School, she then obtained an Associate of Science degree in Apparel Design and had a successful career in fashion design, sales and marketing and management. Sandy taught apparel design at FIU and Lindsey Hopkins and was a member of the Fashion Group International.
Sandy was an independent person, very strong, very positive. She was also a caring and giving woman who was passionate about the things she cared about. She had a great sense of humor, was extremely artistic with an eye for beauty and detail. She loved her nieces, her brothers, her poodles, her friends, her church and her God.
At Christ the King Lutheran Church, Sandy was a member of the Care Team, participated with Gods Work Our Hands and updated the Wall of Heroes while dealing with her incurable disease. She was a hero to those that knew her well. Sandy had a way of connecting with people. She will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, March 24th at 1PM at Christ the King Lutheran Church at 11295 SW 57 Avenue, Miami, Florida. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Disabled American Veterans may be made at www.dav.org
