Robert J. Edwards

EDWARDS, Robert Joseph Sr., 79.  Born in Washington DC and passed away in Miami on April 7, 2018.  He honorably served in the US Air Force for 4 years.  He was a graduate of Florida International University with a degree in Criminology.  Bob began his career as a police officer with Prince George County Police in Maryland.  He moved his family to Florida in 1972 where he spent 18 months with the Miami Beach Police Department before transferring to Miami Dade Police Department where he happily spend the remainder of his 30 year career in law enforcement.  He retired as Sergeant in 1996 from a career he truly loved.
He is predeceased by his son, Rob. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn; daughters, Cindy, Julie and Jennifer; son-in-law, Kelly and 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Family will receive guests at 10:30 am with a memorial service beginning at 11am on Saturday, 4/14 at Stanfill Funeral Home.
