Richard Leo Wassenberg, passed away at his home in Palmetto Bay on July 10, 2017. He was a civil trial attorney with Ponzoli, Wassenberg, Sperkacz &Keller.

He is predeceased by his brother, Ronald Wassenberg, and son Sgt. Wade Richard Wassenberg,
He is survived by his wife, Louise McCarthy Wassenberg; sisters, Sheila King Harris, Sallie Bembenek; daughter, Lauren Nicole Wassenberg (Erika), grandchildren, Wade Ranger Wassenberg, Beau Soldier Wassenberg, Jay Devon Wassenberg and Maya Marie Wassenberg; step children, Kathy McCarthy Pannenbacker, Michele McCarthy Landi (Richard), Kevin McCarthy (Shelley), Don McCarthy (Carolyn), Kristin McCarthy Coscia; step grandchildren, Carly Landi, Vincent & Cameron Coscia, Sallie, Tom & Brittany Pannenbacker, Madeline & Lily McCarthy and daughter-in-law, Deepa Patel Wassenberg.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Friday, 7/14 at Stanfill Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3pm on Saturday, 7/15 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1400 Miller Road, Coral Gables.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lead the Way Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
