Richard H., McCormick DVM, native Miamian born March 9, 1930 at Victoria Hospital. Entered into Eternal life January 25, 2021. A Korean-era veteran, Dick served in the U.S. Army Infantry, Artillery and Veterinary Corps. Attended University of Miami, University of Florida and is a 1965 graduate of Auburn Veterinary School. Practiced in Miami-Dade County for 48 years. After completing his tour of Active Duty in Germany, he remained in the Reserve and served as an Infantry Regiment Staff Officer and Artillery Battery Commander. After receiving his veterinary degree, Dick transferred to the Veterinary Corps and retired in 1990 as a Colonel. Survived by his wife of 54 years Whilma; daughter Elizabeth (George) Wheeler; son Steven (Andrea) McCormick; daughter Karen McCormick; grandsons Benjamin and Jack Wheeler; Colin McCormick; and granddaughter Natalie McCormick. Dick was a Gideon and Deacon at Riverside Baptist Church for 45 years. Service will be 11:30AM, Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Riverside Baptist Church, 10775 SW 104th Street, Miami.
