Richard Morton Gache (“Dick”), a longtime resident of Pinecrest, peacefully left this life to be with his Lord on October 9, 2017. He died of natural causes. Born May 20, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, Richard graduated from Colgate University where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and the varsity golf team. He served in the United States Air Force from 1954- 1957 where he rose to the rank of Captain.

Richard met Helen Joan (“Jody”) Gache, the love of his life, in Houston, Texas, and they wed on January 28, 1956. Richard was a certified financial advisor for 26 years with Ameriprise Financial, where he won many awards. He was also an active member in Christ the King Lutheran Church where he served on numerous committees, USA Service Dog Association as a pet therapy handler, Pinecrest Business Association, Alumni Association of Colgate University, Patrons of the Museum of Science, Dade Heritage Trust, Royal Palm Tennis Club, and Delta Kappa Epsilon. Dick was known and loved by many in the Miami community.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Beatrice Gache, and wife Jody, to whom he was married for 60 years. He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Lynn Gache; son, Russell (Dana) Gache; and three grandchildren. A Memorial Service followed by a reception will take place at 4 PM Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 11295 SW 57th Ave, Pinecrest, Florida 33156. The family requests that donations be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers. To God be the Glory.
