Pierrette Gadala-Maria

April 20, 1936 ~ September 10, 2022 (age 86)

Tribute

Pierrette Selim Gadala-Maria died September 10th, 2022, at the age of 86. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her four children, Jacobo Antonio, Alfredo Jacobo, Sandra Pierrette and Carlos Enrique as well as sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was born in Beirut, Lebanon on April 20th, 1936, from Selim Farah, a Syrian born doctor and Alexandra Salha, a midwife born in Tyre, Lebanon. She was the fifth child of a total of eight siblings, and is survived only by a younger brother, Elie Farah.
She met who would become her future husband at the age of 20 on a visit to New York City and was married shortly after to Jacobo Arturo Gadala-Maria. As her husband was a native of El Salvador, she moved from Lebanon to El Salvador, and raised her four children in El Salvador, until civil unrest forced the family to move to the United States, and for the next 43 years resided in the same house in Pinecrest, Florida. After a long bout with Cancer, her husband passed, and she became a widow at 57 years of age.
She was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner at many of the catholic churches in Miami, including St. Jude, Our Lady of Lebanon, St Louis Catholic, and Epiphany Catholic Church. Was active in the Coral Gables Garden club and participated in many Lebanese charities that affected children both in the USA and in Lebanon.
She was a great host and loved to have parties in her Pinecrest house, and any excuse would do. Whether it was Easter, birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, she hosted party after party where you were sure to never go lacking in food or drink. She loved her entire family without limit. She never missed a birthday party, baptism, wedding, or any event to commemorate her children or grandchildren.
She was the matriarch of the Gadala-Maria Farah family, and she leaves behind a great legacy of unconditional love, family unity and faith. Her services will take place at Stanfill Funeral Homes located in 10545 S Dixie Highway, Miami, FL 33156, on Monday, September 19th, 2022, from 5-8pm. This will be followed by a church service at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 20th, 2022, at St Louis Catholic Church, located at 7270 SW 120th Street, Pinecrest, FL 33156. After the church service her burial will be at the Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery at 11411 NW 25th Street, Doral, FL 33172.
In lieu of flowers please send your donations to either Saint Louis Catholic Church or Saint Jude Catholic Church.
