Paul Mullery, 61, of Palmetto Bay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Born March 24, 1957 in Newark, NJ to Joseph Mullery and Joan Fitzsimmons Mullery. After serving his country in the United States Air Force, Paul began a lengthy and storied career in aviation maintenance of more than 35 years. He worked as an aircraft mechanic with Piedmont Airlines, USAirways, and American Airlines, where he made many friends along the way. Paul was a devoted family man who adored his wife and children; he was also a man who connected with people. If you were a friend of Paul, you were part of the family. Known as a storyteller, a giver, and a fixer, innumerable friends and family sought his help or counsel on many occasions, and Paul would always deliver. His loving family will cherish him always, and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Paul is preceded in death by his father Joseph James Mullery. Paul is survived by his wife, Vera and his children, Eric, Evan, and Cara; his mother, Joan Fitzsimmons Mullery; his siblings, Joseph Mullery, Mary Wyant, Susan Rice, Joanne Mullery, and Cathy Moore. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nephews, his great-niece, and his many friends who have always been family to him. His family will receive friends at Stanfill Funeral Home, 10545 South Dixie Hwy, Miami, FL on Monday, June 11, from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M. Please dress casually for the visitation; Paul would want to be in his favorite Hawaiian shirt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary – St. Richard Church, 7500 SW 152nd Street, Palmetto Bay, FL at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 12, followed by lunch in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN.
