Nhuong Khiem Phung

February 10, 1930 ~ July 30, 2018 (age 88)

Nhuong Khiem Phung went back home to the Lord on July 30th, 2018. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in My Tho, Vietnam, 88 years ago, she was an AMAZING woman who lived a long productive life.
Nhuong was a mother to 15 children and an entrepreneur. She was a woman ahead of her time, a great role model for all women out there. She showed that women can have it all. Married at a young age, she started the family at 18. By the age of 40 she’d had 15 children and was running several successful businesses.
Escaping communist Vietnam, she migrated to the US with her family 36 years ago, with only the clothes on her back. She called Miami home ever since. She lost her husband one year after arriving in the States. Without knowing the language, and having little money, Nhuong managed to take care of her children alone. She was a survivor and a real “Wonder Woman”.
Nhuong is survived by 14 of her 15 children, 15 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Her funeral mass was held at Holy Rosary St. Richard Catholic Church on Wednesday August 1st at 11AM. Her final resting place will be at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Rosary St. Richard Catholic Church, 7500 SW 152 Street, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157 for prayer mass to Anne Marie Nhuong Khiem Nguyen Phung or to a charity of your choice in her honor.
