Nancy Dennehy Lones, of Miami, passed away on February 15 at her home.
Born in Winnetka, Illinois in 1935, Nancy was married in 1958 to her beloved John Rudge Lones, who predeceased her in 2017. They moved to Florida in 1964. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was also a sailor, a pilot, a chef and entrepreneur, co-owner in the late seventies, early eighties of The Tea Room at Cauley Square and later The Little Bistro in South Miami.
Nancy loved people and all the creatures who share this planet with us. She had a passion for justice and was a voice for the voiceless. Her compassion was endless. She was fun-loving, faithful, gracious and wise.
Nancy is survived by her four sons: John, Jr. (Alice), Christopher, Shaun (Christine) and Stuart (Diane); nine grandchildren: John, Alison, Brandon, Scarlett, Shaun, James, Stuart, Andrew, Edward; and many friends and her church community.
We will celebrate her life on Saturday, March 23 at 2:00 PM, Pinecrest Presbyterian Church, 10400 SW 57th Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to Pinecrest Presbyterian Church for the Rudge and Nancy Lones Scholarship Fund for Pinecrest Presbyterian Day School.
