I just learned of Monica's passing. My heart and prayers go out to her family. Monica and I worked together on various legal matters and I knew her to be a dedicated and focused advocate for the legal profession. She was a tremendous lawyer and I will truly miss working with her.

CHELSEA, CEDRIC, JASON, IAN, CESLEY, AND IAN, WE ARE SENDING OUR DEEPEST SIMPATHY FOR OUR GREAT LOSS. MONICA WAS ONE OF THE SWEETEST YOUNG LADIES IVE KNOWN. SHE WILL BE MISSED DEEPLY. MY HEART GOES OUT TO HER KIDS THE MOST. I PRAYED AND ASKED GOD IF I COULD BEAR MOST OF THEIR PAIN FOR THEM. BE STRONG AND KNOW YOUR MOM LOVES YOU AND WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU IN HEART. MUCH LOVE ALWAYS.

We were at law school together. Monica was a bright star. She kept our spirits up when Ithaca's winter days got too harsh, when coursework got too burdensome. She was the genuine article and I will miss her very much. I wish peace of mind and love to her surviving family. With deepest sympathy,

It is with heavy emotions and broken heart that I write this tribute about a former co-worker that grew to a special relationship as an awesome mentor, Soror and beloved friend. The passing of Monica Lewis Johnson has been a shock and shaken me to my core. Monica was a brilliant attorney, loving Mom and true friend to many. Her positive approach to resolution and willingness to help without any reservation was a common way of life for her. She left a heartfelt and loving impression with me that will always be remembered. I'm so grateful destiny caused us to meet. She gave me so much professional advice, opportunities and support that I will cherish forever. Our FB postings were a way for us to stay in touch, but will never replace our meeting and lack of spending time together. It's hard to believe I will no longer be able to keep in touch and read her wonderful stories about her family and travels. My prayer is that her husband, children and family find comfort and strength in memory of her life commitments and passion for every way she lived and loved. I know she is in heaven with all Angels as she was an Angel on earth. Monica you fought a good fight and you are a Winner! Thank you for showing me so much unconditional love. You will be truly missed but never forgotten. My heart hurts, but I will celebrate your life as you would want. RIH

Jason and children. It was very nice to see Monica and the children on the Go Fund Me page. If Ian or Cecily had walked up to me on the street I would not have recognized them. Now I know why your Mom calls Ian her Gentle Giant. God works for your good always and I am now certain why He had your parents move to Miami. They are there to comfort you and your children and for that I am sure its God's way of telling you He loves you to.
