It is with profound sadness that the de Sola family of Coral Gables, Florida announces the passing of their beloved Mateo de Sola. Mateo, who was 56 years old at the time of his passing, departed this world on November 6, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Mateo's journey came to an end after bravely battling a Glioblastoma for over two years, demonstrating unwavering strength and determination throughout his fight. He was surrounded by his cherished family in his final moments, finding solace in the presence of his loving wife, Lucia, his caring son, Nicolas, and his devoted daughter, Daniela. Their unwavering support and companionship brought comfort and warmth to his challenging journey, ensuring that he was never alone in his time of need. Mateo began his schooling at Gulliver Preparatory School and then went to Culver in Indiana. He graduated from Emory University and received his MBA from European University in Paris. He was an avid tennis player, loved to travel, and was a beloved father, brother, and friend. In his professional life, Mateo was a successful financial advisor. His dedication and diligence served as an inspiration to his colleagues and earned him the respect of all who had the privilege of working with him. The funeral service to honor Mateo's life will take place at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, located at 1400 Miller Rd, Coral Gables, FL 33146 on Thursday, November 9th at 1:30 p.m. It is a time for family, friends, and all who knew him to gather, share their memories, and bid a final farewell to a remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the de Sola family kindly requests that those who wish to pay tribute to Mateo consider making donations to the Miami Cancer Institute. These contributions will support ongoing research and provide much-needed resources for individuals and families facing the same challenges that Mateo confronted during his battle. Mateo's presence in our lives was a gift, and his memory will forever be a source of inspiration and love. In this difficult time, the de Sola family finds solace in the outpouring of love and support from the community and all those who knew and admired Mateo. May he rest in peace, and may his memory continue to bring comfort and strength to us all.
