I feel fortunate to have visited Mary in July to visit with her and share a few hugs. I know how she missed her husband of 71 years, Dominic, who passed in May.
I will miss my second mom. Mary and her husband Dominic opened their home and refrigerator to so many of us growing up through the 1960s and 1970s. No matter what time we came in for a late snack, Mary would be there in the den, surrounded by her bookcases, watching Johnny Carson's Tonight Show or some late old horror movie. She had a wry sense of humor and a ready wit in dealing with all of us young people. She will be greatly missed by so many who knew and loved her.
