July 11, 1926 ~ December 22, 2018 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Tribute

Marjorie Agnes Fogarty passed away peacefully in Cutler Bay, FL on December 22, 2018 at the age of 92. Marjorie was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies in 1926, the youngest child of Laurence Joseph and Enid Heloise (Lewis) Fogarty. She attended Alpha High School, and worked as Chief Reservations Officer at BOAC/British Airways for 25+ years until failing vision forced an early retirement. She was highly regarded as a manager for fairness and efficiency, and was loved and respected by co-workers and subordinates who she mentored. Never married, she traveled widely, cared first for her parents and later her brother at home, and was an indulgent, favorite aunt to her three nieces. A devout Roman Catholic, keeper of the family history, a good sport, and loyal friend and confidant, she was a very bright, truthful, self-sufficient woman, who took pride in being a proper lady. She loved her cat, Brindy; had a keen interest in current events, and enjoyed music, audio books, cooking and gardening. Marjorie overcame many obstacles but never indulged in self-pity and made the best of every situation, however difficult. She is survived by her three nieces and their husbands - Margaret (Jim) Wright of Palmetto, FL; Jeanne (Philip) Croskery of Kingston, Jamaica; Anne (John) Miller of Willow Spring, NC; grandnieces Briana (Martin) Croskery-Hansen, Lisa (Tim) Miller-Pietras & grand-nephew Adam Miller; great grand nieces and nephews Landyn, Ryliegh, Amanda, Jacob, Victoria & Kayden.
Funeral Mass to be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15th at Holy Rosary St. Richard Catholic Church, 7500 SW 152nd Street, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157, followed by interment at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Park South, 11655 SW 117 Ave, Miami, FL 33186.
