CAPPELLETTI, MARIO RICHARD “RICK”, 79, of Miami, Florida, passed away, Monday, April 17, 2017 at his home.
Richard was born October 8, 1937 in New York City to Rosa and Enrique Cappelletti, the youngest of their four children. He graduated Miami Senior High in 1956. He then joined the United States Marine Corp and served in the Middle East. He met his wife JoAnn through a mutual friend and it was love at first sight. They were married in Miami Florida in1959. He served on the Miami Beach Police force for 14 years, first as a Motorcycle Patrolman and later as a Detective. He then became an entrepreneur in residential real estate. Richard was an outdoorsman who enjoyed his cabin in the Everglades and loved exploring the country on his Harley with his wife and friends. He loved spending time on the water and built boats as a hobby. The Romi Jo was the last boat he built, in partnership with his friend Lee Perkins, and was his favorite. They both along with their wives and friends enjoyed dozens of Fly Fishing trips spanning several decades. The Romi Jo and his great friends at Black Point Marina were his home away from home. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren especially during the holidays. Rick will always be remembered as a prolific storyteller who became the life of every party. He was loved by all.
Richard is survived by his wife JoAnn, daughter, Colette Adams and her husband John (Buddy) Adams,his son, Richard Dino Cappelletti; three grandchildren, Jesse Ryan Adams, Nikia Catherine Adams, and Amanda JoAnn Adams.
Celebration of Life to be held May 4 11:30 to 2:30 at Black Point Marina Restaurant.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
