January 25, 1932 ~ September 30, 2020 (age 88) 88 Years Old
Lloyd Parker (Coach) 88 years old, longtime resident of Miami Florida and Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2020. Born in Bedford, Virginia. He predeceased his wife, Frances Parker, to whom he was married for 48 years. He received his BS Degree in Education from Elon College and a MS Degree in Education from University of North Carolina. He taught in Miami Dade County for 31 years, mostly at Coral Park Sr. H. S. Retiring in 1991 he resided in Sarasota, FL. for 28 years before returning to Miami, Florida in October 2019. He loved walking on Lido Beach and it has been said that he walked around the world 3 times. We can picture him right now walking the most perfect beach with a Schlitz in his hand meeting up with his Coral Park buddies where he instituted the notorious external heart massage. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the Navy and the U. S. Marine Corp. from 1951 – 1955. One year on the Front Lines. He was Survived by: Daughters – Denise Heineken(Dan), Karen Alexander(Buz) and Alison Phillips(Mark) Son – Merritt O’Brien Grandsons – Scott Reddish, Daniel Heineken(Heidi), Ryan Alexander(Katrina), Pheonix O’Brien(Megan), and Dalton Phillips Granddaughters – Jenna Juan(Eddie), Taylor Felan(Paul) and Stirling Phillips Greatgrandchildren – Mikayla Juan, Jackson Heineken, Riley Heineken and Joas O’Brien Niece – Valorie Ekstrom(Rick) There will be a Celebration of Life at the family residence at 1pm on October 25th, 2020.
