Joyce Waldin Fritz

JOYCE WALDIN FRITZ (90) passed away peacefully on October 15, 2018 at The Palace Gardens in Homestead. Born and raised in Miami, Joyce was a graduate of Miami High class of 46’. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, John Comfort Fritz in 1995. Joyce is survived by her 5 children, John Fritz (Brenda), James Fritz (Sherry) Jennifer Floyd, Jeffrey Fritz, Jack Fritz (Jan) as well as 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Joyce and John along with their five children owned and operated Melrose Nursery for many, many years as well as Fritz Kennels, Inc. They had many friends both in the Nursery business as well as the Greyhound Kennels. When they were not working their love and passion for fishing and diving took them to the Florida Keys and in 1982 they built a beautiful home on the water in Cudjoe Key. Many memories and great times with family and friends were shared in Cudjoe and will be remembered for many years to come. She was an avid fisherman and was happiest when she was in the Keys sharing her home to any and all that shared that love with her.
The family will hold a private service and Joyce and John’s ashes will be scattered on their favorite fishing spot in the Lower Florida Keys.
