Tribute

John Louie Redding, 80, passed away at his home in Cutler Bay, FL on December 20, 2018. He was born in Winston-Salem, NC on August 6, 1938. He was predeceased by his parents, William H. and Mortie Shore Redding and baby sister, Patricia Ann.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Peters Redding; sons, Timothy (Cheryl) and Todd (Frankie) Redding; grandchildren, Caitlyn (Robby) Bondurant, Tyler (fiancé Samantha Cweika) Redding and Tanner Redding; brothers, William H. Redding, Jr and James C. Redding; sister, Christine Fine as well as nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
After graduating from high school in 1956, John joined the Air Force. He served on active duty for 12 years. Upon discharge, he then finished in the Air Force Reserves completing a total of 21 years that he proudly served our country. He also worked for Eastern Air Lines for 18 years.
The family would like to thank VITAS Team 138 for the wonderful, compassionate care given to John the last 10 days of his life. We will be forever grateful.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Stanfill Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Cornerstone Church, 20740 Old Cutler Road, Cutler Bay. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Park South.
Donations may be made in John’s memory to VITAS Community Connection, 16800 NW 2nd Avenue, North Miami Beach, FL 33169, The American Heart Association or Cornerstone Church Music Ministry.
