Jane L. Allen, 93, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 28, 2018. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home. She was born in St. Simons Island, GA on June 5, 1925 to Alexander and Julia Metzger Lorentzson. She was married to her “sweet Henry” Allen for 64 years until Henry’s death in 2008. They met in Palatka, FL and married August 19, 1944. They moved to Miami in 1949, where Jane was an active member of First United Methodist Church of South Miami for 60 plus years and recently a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. She served as the first PTA President for Pinecrest Elementary School, later as PTA President for both Palmetto Senior High and Palmetto Junior High. She was past President of Coco Plum Women’s Club, an original member of Old Cutler Republican Women’s Club, former member UM Women’s Cancer Assoc., Barton Ravlin Chapter and Flag Member, Biscayne Bay Yacht Club. Her primary focus was her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Henry Lee Allen, her son, Richard Louis Allen, grandson, Jeffrey Charles Oltz, and her five siblings. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Allen Oltz of Pinecrest, Suzanne Allen Geyer (David) of Pompano Beach, grandchildren Janet Oltz Scarpatetti (Romed) of Palmetto Bay, James Allen Oltz, of Pinecrest, Richard Allen Geyer (Josi) of Margate, FL, Amanda Geyer Lineman (Kyle), Ft. Lauderdale, ten great- grandchildren who affectionately called her “Gigi” and never failed to put a smile on her face, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jane was a loving, thoughtful and sweet lady loved by everyone and called “Granny” by most. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11am, Christ the King Lutheran Church, 11295 SW 57 Avenue, Pinecrest, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Rodeheaver Boy’s Ranch, 380 Boys Ranch Road, Palatka, FL 32177 or charity of your choice
