James George Wallace
October 25, 1925 ~ October 19, 2021 (age 95) 95 Years Old
James George Wallace, age 96, passed away peacefully in Miami, Florida, on October 19, 2021. He was born on October 9, 2025 in Greenville, Pennsylvania to George Wallace and Helene Theodora Wallace.
He attended Thiel College for two years before transferring to Michigan Tech where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He later earned a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from University of Southern California and an MBA from Case Western Reserve.
James’ career spanned 40 years in construction building dams, bridges, mass transportation and roads. He worked on the Big Dig in Boston, the People Mover in Miami, and the New York Subway.
His hobbies included ballroom dancing, golf, and spending time with family and friends. He organized a team to compete in the Senior Olympics in basketball into his 70s. He loved animals.
James married his college sweetheart Shirley June Hall, who preceded him in death in May, 1977.
He found his second love in Miami with Rosemary Breslow who survives him, as well as his beloved daughters, Sharon Brown and Pamela Wallace, and his granddaughter, Ashley Brown.
James was one of the last of the greatest generation of WWII vets and proud Marine and Navy reservist. He epitomized everything that generation was known for: personal responsibility, integrity, humility, work ethic, financial prudence, faithful commitment.
