HELGA M. BROWN
BROWN, Helga M., longtime resident of Miami, passed away on April 3, 2022, at the age of 85. Helga was born in Bamberg, Germany and immigrated to the United States at the age of 21 to begin a new life with her first husband, William Tillman, Jr. in Miami. Together, they had two children and she worked as a professional dressmaker and ballet teacher.
She later met and married the love of her life, Horace Brown, and worked as a registrar at Atlantis Academy. Helga and Horace enjoyed 32 years together, traveling, spending time with their growing family, and as actively engaged members of the German American Social Club in Miami.
Helga was preceded in death by her husband, Horace D. Brown, first husband William C. Tillman Jr., and brother Siegfried Riegel. She is survived by her children Karen (Rich) Cannon, grandchildren Kristin Perez and Anthony Perez, Eric (Kimberly) Tillman, grandchildren Karolyn Tillman and Andrew Tillman, step-children Larry (Pam) Brown, Dave (Kathy) Brown and Judy (Ray) Rivard, 15 step-grandchildren, numerous step-great grandchildren, sister Linde Delahanty, and brothers Horst, Dieter, and Gunter Riegel.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am, Saturday, April 23, at Miami Memorial Park followed by a celebration of life. Condolences can be sent to the Stanfill Funeral Home.
