Francis Joseph O'Neil

Frank O’Neil, 84, of Miami, Florida, passed away on August 30, 2019, at Baptist Hospital. Born on September 23, 1934 to Charles and Helen O’Neil he lived most of his life in Brooklyn & Queens, New York prior to moving to Miami in 1982. In New York, Frank worked for the Teamster Union Local #138 for 30 years. When he moved to Miami he was employed by the Department of Parks and Recreation for both Miami Dade and The Village of Pinecrest.
He married Gert (Trudy), the love of his life, in 1954, who survives him. Frank is also survived by his four children: Linda Boccio, Frank O’Neil (Janet), Donna Russo and Colleen Rembisz (Robert), eight grandchildren: Ryan Anderson, Thomas Boccio, Jennifer Russo-Deane, Kevin O’Neil, Anthony Russo, Kelly O’Neil, Eric O’Neil and Kristen Rembisz, two great grandchildren: Callie Russo, Benjamin O’Neil and five siblings: Patricia Anderson, Virginia DeNiro, Kathleen Wagner, Maureen Lugo and Dennis O’Neil.
Frank was a loving and caring man who would do anything for anyone – especially his family. He was also known for his love of the New York Jets and would root for any team that played against the Miami Dolphins. Frank was actively involved in the West Dade Moose Lodge #1825 and earned his Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 2016. The Pilgrim Degree of Merit is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 1-5 PM at Stanfill Funeral Home 10545 South Dixie Highway in Pinecrest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that people make donations in his memory to MooseHeart.
