Eugene D. Kirkland, age 89, passed away with peace and grace on January 10th with his family at his side. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Eileen, and is survived by his daughters-Marianne (John) and Christine (Tim), 4 grandchildren-Natalie, Stephen, Sarah, and Brady, and 2 great grandchildren-Jonathon and Jake. He bravely served his country in the Army during the Korean War and is an alum of Niagara University. He previously worked as an accountant for the Archdiocese of Miami and the Diocese of Venice. He loved the Miami Dolphins, the Miami Heat and will always be remembered for his humor and quick wit. He will live forever in the hearts of his beloved family. A memorial mass will be held at 11am on January 15th in the chapel at St. Anne’s Nursing Center in Miami, to be followed by a military burial at a later date.
