November 13, 1925 ~ September 27, 2018 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Tribute

Edythe Vickery Lindstrom, 92, died on Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Lake Placid, FL. She was born on November 13, 1925 in Miami, FL. Edythe grew up in the Allapattah neighborhood of Miami, with her late parents, John & Kathryn Vickery and younger sister Mary. She attended Andrew Jackson Senior High school graduating in 1943.
On October 6, 1946, Edythe married the love of her life, Clyde (Chunky) Lindstrom. What a love affair they had. They were blessed with three loving sons and an even larger extended family. Edythe and Chunky were married for 52 years until his death in 1998. In 2015, Edythe relocated to Lake Placid, FL to be closer to family.
Edythe’s faith in the Lord was a cornerstone of who she was. She was a life-long Lutheran and one of her greatest joys was that she sang in the church choir for 75 years. She last attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lecanto, FL and, prior to moving there, attended Christ the King Lutheran Church in Miami. Edythe’s lasting legacy was the importance of family. She instilled that trait in her children and grandchildren. In 2000, Edythe wrote and had published the beginnings of the Lindstrom family, “IT’S ALL IN THE FAMILY.”
Edythe was not only a wonderful wife and mother but a great friend to those who knew her, always willing to listen and give advice, if asked. She never had a harsh word for anyone and had a great love for life. We will miss her beautiful smile, her sense of fun, her sentimental tears and her love of family.
Edythe is survived by her three sons Rick (Susie) of Lake Placid, FL, John (Alina) of Casa Grande, AZ and Bob (Cheryl) of Ocala, FL; seven grandchildren, Rick (Merritt), Genevieve (Robert), Randy (Carolyn), Katrina (Brian), Ashley, Tony and Michael; six great grandchildren; sister Mary (Al), as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, October 4, 2018, 6 – 8 pm at Stanfill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:00 am, 11295 SW 57 Ave.
