Edward R. Deppman, CPA of Palmetto Bay, Florida passed peacefully at home on October 5th. Mr. Deppman was born July 9, 1928 in Seattle, WA and was a graduate of the University of Washington. After serving in the Marine Corps and marrying his wife of 68 years, Darlene Taylor Deppman, he began his career in public accounting with Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte Touche) in Seattle. His career took him to Chicago, then overseas to Paris and Brussels before settling in Miami in 1972 where he continued his career with Deloitte until his retirement in 1984. Mr. Deppman was active in many professional associations including the National Association of Accountants and the National Associations of Black Accountants. Mr. Deppman served as a mentor to many co-workers and was a pioneer in promoting gender equality in his firm. Mr. Deppman is survived by his wife Darlene, daughter Kristin D. Allen of Putney, VT, son Edward D. Deppman of Miami, as well as grandsons George W. Allen III of Brattleboro VT and Benjamin E. Allen of Burlington, VT.
