Douglas James Pherson
January 26, 1983 ~ April 5, 2018 (age 35) 35 Years Old
Douglas J. Pherson, 35, passed away at his home in Rock Springs, WY on April 5, 2018. He was born in Miami and graduated from Miami Palmetto High School and Florida Atlantic University. He was a hard-working, dedicated employee of the Transportation Security Administration and previously worked for Publix, the Miami Museum of Science and the City of Rock Springs, WY. An accomplished outdoor photographer, he had recently begun to exhibit his photographs and had won several awards. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and attended many air shows. He had this great love for the national parks which were the subjects of his many photo shoots. Doug is survived by his parents, Mary and Jim Pherson of Palmetto Bay, his brother, Brian, his aunts, Sue Powell (Jerry), Judy Nolan (Steve) and Judy Calhoun and cousins, Lisa and Michelle along with his uncle Pat McGeever. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church at 11:30 am April 21, 2018 with a viewing at 10:30am in the chapel. Contributions in Doug’s name can be made to the National Park Service.
