ROMEO, DOMINIC, 97 of Miami, formerly from Paterson, NJ passed away on May 2, 2017.
Born in Serino, Italy he came to the US when he was 8 years old. After graduating from high school he attended Casey Jones School of Aviation followed by serving in the Army Air Corps. from 1942-1945 as a Staff Sgt. In the 83rd Airdrome Squadron. Dominic moved to Miami in 1959 where he was President with American Airmotive. In 1969 he formed Air Parts Support, Inc. He was the Exalted Ruler of the South Miami Elks Lodge and member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for over 25 years where he taught boating safety, receiving national recognition “The Bald Eagle Award” for his service. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary; son, Anthony Romeo; daughter, Felicia Romeo Christin (Nick); 5 grandchildren, Nicole, Michael (Natasha) and Catherine Christin, Marianne Romeo (Giacomo) and Laura Nuttle (Philip); 4 great grandchildren, Tatiana, Mia, Frida and Henry. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Thursday (today) at Stanfill Funeral Home where Wake Services will begin at 8:00 pm. Graveside Services will be 9:15 am Friday at Woodlawn Park South Cemetery, 11655 S.W. 117 Avenue.
