Cynthia McDaniel Gingrich

Cynthia McDaniel Gingrich, 59, of Coral Gables, Florida passed away on Tuesday June 12th, 2018 at 3:15AM after a long struggle with cancer.

She was a previous member of the Junior League of Miami and other charitable organizations and was a current member of the Chapel of the Venerable Bede, Episcopal Church.

Cynthia shared 20 wonderful years with her husband and best friend Dennis and is survived by her son Gregg Ormond(Kristyn, fiancé). She is also survived by her mother Shirley Elliott(Don), brothers Tom Morgan, Don Morgan, and Jim McDaniel, sister Jackie Delp(Danny), sister Laura Collier(Frank), Mother-in-law Phyllis Gingrich, brother-in-law John Gingrich (Phyllis White), Sister-in-law Linda Clark(Ed), and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Cynthia was born in Okeechobee, Florida to Jim and Thelma(Walker) McDaniel and attended Okeechobee High School. An avid Seminole fan, she attended Florida State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. She later received her Masters in Taxation from Florida International University. She worked for several large firms after graduating from college and was the Vice President of Corporate Tax at Royal Caribbean Cruise Line for the last 18 years. Cynthia loved to travel and working for a cruise line provided her many opportunities to see the world with her family. She also loved the outdoors, whether it be sitting on her back patio reading a book and watching the wildlife, tending her herb garden or hiking in many of the National Parks she was able to visit in the past few years.

She lived life to its fullest and made an impact on everyone she met. She will be sorely missed.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, June 20th at 6:00PM at Chapel of the Venerable Bede (University of Miami),1150 Stanford Dr., Coral Gables, FL 33146.
