Cathryn Karakosta Roban, 75
(November 10, 1945 - April 3, 2022)
On Saturday April 3rd 2022 at 1 130 a.m. Catherine went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Cookie, as she was known to her loved ones, was born to immagrent Albanian parents Gus and Roksani Karakosta on Nov 10, 1945 in Chicago Ill. Sister to Penelope Grabova and predeced in death by her brother William (Connie) Karakosta, a loving aunt to 7 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews but most of all a friend to all she met and knew.
Catherine Karakosta Roban was a very talented and accomplished artist having graduated with a Masters in Art from the University of Miami. She was very well known throughout the community and perhaps best known as a ceramicist for her big , bold yet beautiful creations or her diminutive ceramic signs depicting Historical Homes in Coral Gables. She made macrame pieces and worked with glass, beads and mosaic tiles. She was a terrific art teacher who loved being able to imprint onto the next generation of kids.
Cookie loved being around family and friends, she was a poet, a cook, loved classical music and cooking for others and somehow this just all tied in together with great joy and laughter. Her laughter, and her "Home-made" Christmas Cards from her heart are what we will never forget along with sooo much more. A wonderful soul gone, but an eternal light never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church in Kendall at 1 1 am. Family asks (as per Cookies wishes) that instead of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Childrens hospital in her honor. https:// www.stjude.org/give/memorials-anddedications.html

Interment will take place at 1pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth.
