Anita Bayona passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 10, 2018.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents Martin Bayona and Carmela Becerra, her siblings : Cesar, Emiro, Nelson, Eustorgia, Mercedes and Amelia; her first daughter Margarita Maria Movilla , her father Luis Carlos, her granddaughter Marisol, and Paco Munoz , her second love. She is survived by her loving family: daughter Ana Mari, son-in-law Ron, grandsons Carlos and Rod , sister Aminta, brother Wilson, and many cousins, nieces and nephews from near and afar.
Anita was born in Ocana, Colombia and then moved to Barranquilla where she, after starting a wonderful married life, became a young widow. She then moved to Bogota and settled there for many years, raising her daughters and grandchildren.
She moved to the United States, first to New York City and then Miami where she was for the last 15 years.
Anita will be remembered by her great sense of humor, her appreciation of a good glass of wine, Champagne or fine Cognac; her positive attitude no matter what the hardship and her most kind heart. She touched many lives and was an inspiration to many.
She was a fountain of information, for until the end, her memory was amazing. She remembered everyone’s name that she came across, later on relating the most detailed stories. She kept up with all current events, never too afraid to give her opinion. But what people remember the most about her, is that she never had anything negative to say about anyone. People would call her often looking for her advice and she kept so many in her daily prayers.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory. This was her favorite charity.
