Tribute

Agnes M. Gill a longtime resident of Miami passed away peacefully on April 23, 2022 at the age of 97. Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, she moved to Miami at a young age with her large family. She attended St. Theresa’s School and was a founding member of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church along with her husband Peter who predeceased her in 1976.
She was a wonderfully devoted wife and mother raising 6 sons. Predeceased by her son Peter III (Diane), she is survived by her sons, Richard (Donna), Kevin, Michael (Denise), Patrick (Joanne), & Daniel (Chris). She is Grandma Gill to 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her younger sister Virginia of Des Plaines, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.
Agnes spent many years volunteering at the church and then working for the Archdiocese after all her children were married. Her faith was a central part of her life. She continued to volunteer later in life at St. Anne’s Nursing Center and Residence where she ultimately spent her last months in their loving care.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Catholic Charities at ccadm.org
A viewing will be held on Sunday May 1st from 5pm to 8pm at Stanfill Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be the held on Monday May 2nd at St. John Neumann Catholic Church at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Flagler Memorial Park after the funeral mass.
