Tribute

Born in Fairhaven, Massachusetts in October 1921. He moved to Miami in 1953 after service in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Area. Matthew retired from Eastern Airlines after 29 years enjoying worldwide travels. He was a long-standing member of the Rare Fruit Council International and also enjoyed Contract Bridge and Square Dancing. Matthew was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Gallego; daughter, Kathleen R. Wade; and son, Cash Gallego; and is survived by son, Kent Gallego (Claudia); grandchildren, Wendy Liu, Kent Jr. and Cash Wade; great-grandchildren, Reece Liu, Victoria Wade and Matthew Wade; brothers, Richard and Stanley; and sister, Madeline Henderson. Burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Church of St. Hugh, Coconut Grove, Florida.
