Evelyn Walker Golightly, 85, passed away August, 17, 2017. A 68 year resident of Coconut Grove/Miami and spent the last 18 years on North Hutchinson Island. She graduated from Redland High School, worked as a server at Shorty’s BBQ in Kendall, and was Secretary and Treasurer for Golightly Bros. Inc., Land Clearing and Paving. She loved fishing, boating, and her passion was competition ball room dancing. She was a very generous and loving mother, and devoted wife.
She was predeceased by Charles, her husband of 29 years and daughter Catherine. She is survived by Albert Altarac, her partner and soul mate of 32 years, sister Marian Twitchell, daughter Joyce Brodbeck (Denny), and son John. The family extends a special thanks to the Treasure Coast Hospice House staff in Ft. Pierce and her special private caregivers, for their compassionate care in her final days. A private service will be held per her wishes. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation.
