Dorothy Sue Alexander passed peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the age of 76. She was born February 21, 1941 in Kershaw, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Joseph Franklin Bowers and Alma Meares Bowers. She had 11 siblings and is preceded in death by; Geneva Sutton, Joyce Nicholson, Douglas Bowers, and Jim Bowers. Dorothy Sue was married to John Norman Alexander for 23 years until 1983, who also preceded her in death in 2010.
Surviving are her 3 daughters; Pamela S. Buchanan of Miami, FL; Karen L. Hill of Zephyrhills, FL; and Tonya L. Alexander of Miami, FL; her 4 grandchildren, Michelle (19), Zachary (13), Jacob (12), and Matthew (7); and 1 great grandchild Zayden (1). She is also survived by 2 sisters; Lois Aranda and Betty Thompkins, 5 brothers; Bobby Meares, Franklin Bowers, Kelly Bowers, Roger Bowers, and Kenny Bowers.
Dorothy Sue was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She is loved by all and will be deeply missed.
There will be a memorial service without a viewing with a gathering of friends and family to celebrate her life at Stanfill Funeral Home at 2pm Saturday, May 27, 2017.
